I'm back! Hehehe. xD
So much for the haitus. XP

First I want to say thankyou to :icondarkhoodness: who spent a long time with me in front of the PC and watched me paint this piece and that he took time to discuss the concept idea with me before I even started it.:heart::heart:

I've had a picture like this in my head for a little while. I wanted to create a scene which symbolizes the bond between the girl called Lumri and the Plant Spirit.
Both are completely different yet they belong together.

Defiance of the Shadow shows the earthy and untouched forest, which is yet protected by the nature of the plant spirit whilst the lethal hand of humankind forces the forests to give way.
I had to create a final design for Lumri, which took me a while because I couldn't make up a good face for her. In the end, I thought that my youngest sister has the perfect look which fits to the character of Lumri.
The young and childlike shape of the face yet the concentrated eyes were very important aspects which made me choose my sister as a reference for Lumri.

Also, I think it's a good choice since I almost see myself when I was a little child and had dreams like those. :3

This was also a piece I used to experiment a lot with. For example I adujsted every single brush myself which has been used for this picture and I think I will use them more often. :D
I hope you like it! :3

Thanks to the lovely BobTodd who gave me amazingly good critique on that picture, I decided to edit it. The full credit for the idea of editing it and how to do it goes to BobTodd
Thank you so much! <3

Thanks a lot! I tried to go over my own borders once again. xD
It was quite difficult to set the plants in the right "order" at the beginning but I could manage it while progressing with the painting. xD
This one took me about 25 hours to paint.

Nah. The whole point of this picture is that the plant spirit defies all the pollution also by going against it. It is meant to show his power yet the towers of the industry are higher and stronger. I was about to draw more pollution but I think it would have disturbed the whole concept so I discarded the idea.

I will paint a picture which shows mor destruction. Maybe you should come back then. ;)

Oh btw... I know I never did respond to your long message you sent to me... but I did post an image (WIP still) of that one character I was talking so much in my main gallery... if you were interested in looking.

Vielen, vielen Dank! ^^

Achso, bevor ich es vergesse, ich habe absolut keine Ahnung, wie ich einzelne Pinsel im PS abspeichern kann. Ich wollte dir doch mal ein Pinselpaket schicken... ;___;

Thank you so much for the compliment. :3
I'm really happy you like the plant spirit. :D
I always use my own costumized brushes for drawing moss since it's the easiest and quickest way to paint moss.
