HEATHEN CITY by AlectorFencer HEATHEN CITY by AlectorFencer
Do you see it now? The true word of God.
This is a place where things happen again and again,
And we are men compelled by sways of which we have not ken...
What the city demands, it must be given!
And he so ever who does not love the Lord,
Let him be anathema! Maranatha!
Curse his name and let him burn!

- Tiber.

My part of the collaboration between FoxAmoore and me about a tremendous abstract of the comic series Heathen City by :iconalexfvance:

Listen to the theme of Heathen City here: [link]

I used a couple of new techniques with this painting, including the construction of the background using a four point perspective. I wanted to go deeper into the character by depicting his psyche as well as many other symbols included.

Thanks a lot for looking! <3

>>>Due to many other comments for this image in my second gallery, I now know that it looks similar to the marker from Dead Space! XD
This is a total coincidence as I went for the design of the Maranatha building and some image references of the Chicago Spire. ^^

Doing a proper comment this time. Firstly I do recommend to follow the link and listen to the theme while viewing this piece. Call it psychological art but my eyes plays tricks on me while I am listening to the theme as I expect my mind already has reference between light and darkness. At the start of the theme, eerie awe I now view the piece to me is a lot darker, the ground littered with debris around the destruction center circle and smoke arising and so this is darkness. The next is redemption, light starts to fill the background suddenly the smoke is no more than glistering mist coming up from the ashes, the ground round becomes greener, the circle is of constructive colour not a burning pit of prime red and so this is light. Lastly, darkness comes again but as a shade to light, the cracking of this corrupted world between the spiraling clashing of the two kingdom towers and ghostly figures competing for magnitude and power over the civilization. The glass walls crack under strain but do not shatter, because the strain is relieved through the crack but how long before it shatter bringing either eternal darkness or light. Does one choose life, light or death, darkness in the end. Personally, life is a continual active process sand death a continual passive process.

Great, a giant Marker. Someone had better destory it before
the whole planet gets turned into necromorphs.
