Can he normally change between anthro and quadrupedal forms, or is this just a one-off to see what it would look like?

You do sometimes see birds (especially parrots) lying on their backs so they can both use their feet like hands, so he could just be doing that (or just sitting up on his lion-y feet -- unlike birds, he's got the advantage of having an extra pair of legs). (Like this but less cutesy.)

I don't think he looks crazy so much as plotting. He looks as though he's going to put that plant somewhere it 'shouldn't' be, like plant it in an engine to sabotage a machine.

Beautiful,the details you put on this is just awesome,I guess the feathers must have taken you a great time,same goes to eyes and claws,very fine and accurate,I love the bright effects you can do with your drawings,either with pencil or digital,it looks always wonderful,the way you rendered the light source comming from upper right is very nice :0
I think the plant comming from out of his paws gives the pic a light sense of surrealism

wow the detail and effort put into this is astounding! I love the shading on his feathers and how you've drawn the light emitting from his ability. He looks more majestic than crazy in my opinion
