Protector of the Forest by AlectorFencer Protector of the Forest by AlectorFencer
He will protect the forest from despair and darkness.

:bulletgreen:Get this painting as a large print on matte-finished card! ~>> Protector of the Forest Print :bulletgreen:

This is Darkwing, a dragon character belonging to a commissioner of the same title. He wanted a charactersheet but when I read the description and what he means to do, protecting forests and being a general good soul, I couldn't resist painting this scene. :D
The stag embodies darkness, death and despair.

Here is a clearer design concept of the stag:

Thank you soo much for looking <3 :blowkiss:

I absolutely love the contrast of colors here, not to mention the vividness of the dragon's side in comparison with the stag's dark forest! Nice to see the traditional roles of the represented species flipped as well Clap

I love how you did this-not only is the style flawless, but most people depict dragons as the destroyers and stags as the protectors. The flip of this really adds style:) (Smile)

I don't know if anyone else has mentioned it, but the scales going up the front of the dragon's throat look like a fern frond! Very apt. :)

I hope you don't mind if I put up a deviation based on this. I'm working on it now.
