Proud he stands over his land.
Distance swallows time.
But not him.

This is it people - TODAY is the last day we are taking orders for RARE: 2011 An Extinct Anthro Calendar.

This 12-month calendar features 14 tragically lost anthros, including unique cover art and full page centerfold done by 14 amazing artists. It is rated G for general audiences.

And if you haven't already pre-ordered it, you should FREAKING do so now, because this calendar is sooooooooooo beautiful and should not be passed over lightly. Get it as a gift for someone, or ask from someone who cares - just buy it! Hahaha, it's so awesome!

- EDIT:::
I changed some details, lighting and corrected some anatomical mishaps. I hope the light appears a bit stronger now. ^^

My contribution to the Rare 2011 - An Extinct Calendar. I unconditionally wanted to get the Mammoth as those creatures always fascinated me. The colours and image took quite a lot of my energy and I lost myself in it.

The past 25 hours I worked on the image were spent at a room of 30 degrees which made everything difficult for me. In fact, it was hard to focus on more details as the heat really ate my patience and energy.
But I could beat myself to get thos done just as I wanted it to. ^^

The next year's calendar is about extinct animals in their anthropomorphic form and I must tell you, from what I have seen so far, this calendar is going to knock your socks off!

RRP is $22 plus postage and handling:

$27.00 in the continental United States
$30.00 for international

There is only a limited number of these calendars worldwide and surely something you won't see twice! Wonderful artists like Ashalind, Swandog, Balaa, Donna Quinn, Nimrais and even more are ontributing their fantastic works to this calendar. So make sure you don't miss that out. :]

Long ago, before the Serpet War , there was once a mighty race, the Mammoths! With their legendary strength and size, they conrolled and protected the mountains and plains that stood between the rabbit and Viper kingdoms. But the Viper King Hak'hs Skaa could not tolerate the barrier that stood in the way of such perfect prey and so he called out to his wisest of wizards, Sii'aa the Deaf One. Sii'aa told the Viper King that there was indeed a spell that, if given to his soldiers would make them a power great enough to defeat the Mammoths, the power of Venom! But he warned Hak'hs that all who partook of the Venom would pay a horrible price. Unafraid of the cost, Hak'hs amassed an army of all serpent kind to raid the Mammoth kingdoms. The Venom did as promised, Hak'hs and his minions fell every Mammoth that crossed their paths, indescriminantly and mercilessly. By sundown all of Mammoth kind was dead. As Hak'hs beemed with pride his people's changed before him; the world had become but a void of hot and cold before their eyes, their mighty limbs shriveled and fell from their bodies, they now nothing but slender ropes of death. Their punishment for their sin.

Wow this was supposed to be about mammoths but came out about snakes, how did that happen?

As I was walking to my car after class today, I imagined a weremammoth rampaging through the streets and flipping cars. I never thought I'd see a painting of him tonight!
