Texture Brushes by AlectorFencer Texture Brushes by AlectorFencer
If you want to support me as a freelance artist and the brushes, a little chip in would help me a lot <3

Since I know I won't have time to paint you a pretty Christmas pic this year (like the other years before), I would at least share with what I create my pictures. ;)
This is one small bunch of my selfmade custom brushes for Photoshop.

Some brushes can be a pain in the bum to use especially because their texture and style is so distinctive that changing brushes whilst painting can turn into a negative part of creating an image for the starters among the digital artists.

So I tried to create brushes that are simple to use for shading, detailing, etc.

I hope you enjoy, my dears. :blowkiss:

:bulletorange: Important:

How to load brushes into your program:

- Select the brush tool or hit the key "B" to select the tool.

- Click next to the arrow of the shown brush on the upper tool bar to open the "Brush Preset Picker".

- click the small arrow on the right side next to where you see the pixel size.

- then select "Load Brushes" and choose the files.

- there you go! The brushes will be loaded underneath all your other brushes.

- enjoy!

P.S:: You don't need to but it would be lovely (and also because I'm so curious) if you could link me your works for which you used these brushes. :]

Please do not redistribute or sell these brushes. Thank you!

If were to use these in something like, say, a commission, would that be alright? Or, if I ever actually am able to, I use these in my comic, and then sell the comic, is that also alright? I'll always give you credit of course.

Yep, you may use them for commissions and own projects. The only thing I wouldn't want if you uploaded these files somewhere else or sell the brushes somewhere, that's all. ^^

I'd LOVE to use these, but I have no photoshop D: just Gimp. They look so pretty!

And everybody understands if someone's busy around christmas time ^^ I don't think there's anyone who isn't.

I'd say you're lacking Flow and Opacity Jitter. You can fix this if you're using Photoshop by going to Window > Brushes > Other Dynamics > and put both the Opacity and Flow Jitter at 0% for smoother results and on Pen Pressure. If you're using a similar program like GIMP it should be somewhat the same. Hope this helps! ^u^

Just download it and put it in like any regular gimp custom brush. Then refresh gimp by restarting and voila ^^ it works.

Yeah, it takes some getting used to O-o I haven't been working with it for all that long either, I'm still baffled at how some things work or don't work X) But I learned lots from google :la: It's a great friend when you're having problems ^^

ABR works the same in gimp and photoshop? Cus when I try to use these with gimp, they work out more like a bunch of stamps then a real line...

No, you're fine - GIMP is just not made to properly use brushes like these. :P I have the same problem.

Gotcha :P

But actually, someone suggested setting the 'brush dynamics' to pressure-opacity, and adding jitter- and it worked out pretty well :)
