Finally, it is done! This is my part of a trade with and again another piece I drew at my new workspace. I just love it and it gives me the energy to work longer with more joy.
Here, I wanted to show the pride of Gra Varg's character Vylmer, a pagan wolf warrior. It took me quite long to figure out what pose I can give him and what makes him look powerful. Yet I didn't want to put so much movement into this one for the reason of showing the character as he is. So I decided to give him a rather relaxing yet a "being ready" pose of him leaning on his weapon.
Although it is a steady pose, I wanted to give the picture movement and a bit of action by drawing small stones flying upwards as from a small explosion or pressure when Vylmer put his heavy axe on the ground, splitting the extreme hardness of the rocks.
The movement of his hair is an extra point for the movement of the whole picture.
This was alot of fun to do and I think I will do more of such pictures. I noticed that it is always better to find a good place where you really enjoy working on your pictures. Smell incence, listen to good music and enjoy the light that reveals details you probably would miss in a dark room with artificial light.
And something else what Gra Varg would probably like is that the red parts of the background have been done with Dragonblood. So not only that the tones look delicious, it smells good too.
you really pulled it off he looks so strong and powerful. and also i love the backgorund which you made its so full of details, the whole picture is!

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example.
