Thank you to everyone who has submitted their wonderful paintings and ideas to my little contest! The contest is closed now and my dear friend :iconakeyla: and I have had some deep thoughts and already came close to make a close selection! It will be very difficult for me because of all the wonderful entries I already have. But keep the collage with your image included in mind! :D
The winner will be announced in the next two days, so keep your eyes wide open! Thank you so much!

Everyone hast their own source of insiration.
May it be merely by looking out of the window, having a walk in a vast alley or small forest, by listening to music or by seeing artwork of other artists who express themselves through art and even more. Every single of us finds their own little pathway to getting inspired.

How do you find inspiration?
What inspires you mostly?
Does inspiration for a great idea come to you by looking at a white sheet or thinking of a melody?
Those and more questions is what I would love you to show me here.

Welcome to my little contest round of finding and sharing inspiration!

Win points!!!

I have many sources of inspiration, but I love to watch tutorials, because it actually really helps me a lot to improve my drawing skills. I'm quite happy that I have never run out of ideas yet, but I think looking at amazing picture of other people also helps me a lot to have many ideas.
I really love this wonderful theme of this amazing contest, thanks a lot!

Well, I did one.
Now I will try to explain what it means (<-most difficult part T.T). Anyway
My inspiration comes mainly from nature, I think it's really interesting and it was why I started drawing when I was...(can't remember but I was really young, three maybe?). I also get inspired by books, tales, stories, emotions, history, legends (I really love them!), music (sometimes, but not often) and, of course, other people works (when I see other people drawing it nearly always makes me want to draw too).
And...that's it I think, I tried to put those elements in the picture keeping it simple, hope I didn't fail.
About muro...I think it's the first time I try to do something there OTL

my inspiration...well its not really as simple as one thing...its more of everything!!!! the people i meet the ones that choose to stay with me threw the good times bad times and especially the artist i look up to like yourself X3 over the years as a young child games where my inspiration, to create a world of my own and mold it to what i chose was amazing to me!!! as i got older animals became my inspiration, wolves mostley, to belong to a pack or a group that excepts you no matter what like a parent and there child...but as of late ive had to find a more concrete inspiration...and i think i have found it...its emotion!, it may sound silly but its true...when i feel sad i want to draw what i feel when i fell confident i want to show it with more then just words but something people can look and understand! so yes my inspiration is mine and others emotion and i fuel my emotion threw my old inspiration, animals, and games to form my art <3 i hope that answers your question and if not maybe this art will show more ^u^ (from left to right/ sad, happy, closed off)

Is Muro supposed to have only one layer (other than the background layer), I messed around with it and that is all it seems to give me...I'm just curious. :P

if you find another layer let me know, because one of the reasons we've spent has been for that work. Not to mention that on numerous occasions the browser congealed and I had to restart losing all work done, in other words, I would have been much better if all the possibilities of the DA-Wall.But hey, were clear that out in this way, so do not think you can do anything about it, at the end I had to find a way to easily make the drawing not to entangle the work one more time.

For Gods sake, this stupid muro-crap makes want to punch a hole in my monitor, was it really necessary to f*ck everything up once i was done drawing, two times in a row??? Argh!!
Well, i hope it's ok to deliver you a drawing via an alternative way: [link]

Lets call this quick, dirty, monochrome and kinda childish drawing the "Spark of creation".
I dont have a distinct source of inspiration, like a place, thing or "muse" that inspires me...
It's just happening when i wander around in the house, a bit bored, aimless... It pretty much works like this:
My thoughts wander off while my feet just keep on walking towards the kitchen, i'm thinking about a house, a pretty regular house like you live in, and then my eye catches a lighter at the kitchen-table.
And now it's time for the marvelous part of my brain to kick in: It comes up with a burning house, Shit just got real, and a man in front of the House, hidden in the shadow casted by the blazing House.
And as my brain dives deeper into this picture, it comes up with more and more details. Like the thing, thats in the Hand of the mysterious Man. it could be a torch, that would turn him into a Monster, burning down a House...
Or it could be a smoking, scorched Puppet, together with the perspective on the height of a little Child, so the Man could be *Her* Dad, rescued her Puppet from the fire...

I really like the part of my brain, that comes up with such stuff out of nowhere in an instance, but i hate it how uncooperative this part is when it comes to get this picture out of my head onto a sheet of paper. Thats was my initial reason to learn how to draw, i want to express that stuff in my Head with a Picture and not just with Words...
And i have to admit, i'm quite lazy, so i guess, i still have a loooong way to go...

I can not really pinpoint my insparation, it comes from random things. The popcorn ceilng in my room I see images in the dogs. In the bumps on my walls. From my life and experiences. It depends. I can't say one specific thing that inspires me. My father started me in my art, but he quit drawing and I ended up having to fend for myself, I gained friends from my art. So I could say my friends, I could also say the future. It helps me keep going knowing that in a few years time I will be as good as the artists I admire. With enough work and enough time put into my art I will eventually become what I want to be. An artist I can be proud I became. eh. Heres a cup of tea anyway for the trouble of reading my entry :)

Well, here are a translator disasters, remember that my official language is not English.

Try to answer each of the questions you ask.

The inspiration for each person is individual, it is unlikely that two people have exactly the same taste, and inspiration generally arises from this point of view, inspiration does not come from unwanted things, but otherwise, something that would like to see u again.

My inspiration are varied, can arise from any of my personal tastes, I am lover of video games (FPS, Action, Adventure, Fighting, Puzzle, Action-RPG), movies (action, suspense, fiction, adventure some of terror), I like to see natural events (storms, thunderings, hurricanes, clouds tail), I also like animals, but these hardly ever think I began to draw, the only ones I remember were drawn dinosaurs the inspiration for the movie "Jurassic Park", as in the drawing "Raptor Wars" this drawing was done in 2005 to pen and remastericé late last year, who wants to see it can do so from this [link]

Regarding the inspiration to have only a blank page in front of me, I have been given the case, remember sometimes where all that reigns in my head is boredom, had nothing to do and all that I have been occurred do is draw, that involves the development of an inspiration, because without it I can do nothing. Although to be honest, I've never done a sketch about a melody, but I see that you're doing very well with this, I see you do many works related to the topics of Fox Amoore, I see reasonable, I also really like her songs .

These days I'm inspired by things that characterize me on this site, as is my Avatar and Deviant-ID, something which had not devoted any time, and even I'm doing another job DeviantART fans.
Already on the Deviant-ID is almost complete, I'm giving finishing colors and textures with effects, this can work the sketch from this [link].
As for the other work I'm doing, (to the fans of this great and incredible site), the work will be named: "Planet DA-Point", a planet with its moon in the great interstellar space, where both the planet and its moon will have the appearance of DeviantART points.
Intentaré recrear la idea con el DA-Muro, lo que nunca he empleado, por tanto no me culpen si la obra me queda horrible.

I have future plans, although very little development ideas, and now I focus on the two current jobs, I want to finish my best.

Both my works of my Deviant-ID like "Planet DA-Point" I hope to have them finished today or tomorrow, where I also hope you will enjoy it. :)

My dog, Milly is a great source of inspiration to me. even after I've had a really tough day she's always there to greet me with a waggy tail and a slobbery kiss!
I walk her for an half an hour in the afternoon which is when I have the most relaxed time of my day - I go where she wants - even if it ends up with us wandering thorugh the bush reserve! I spend this time freely walking, imagining stories and ideas. She's a Labrador X Australian Kelpie.

My fandoms, I suppose. I always see things done in amazing ways and I want to learn how to do similar things. I think it's a fabulous way to sharpen skills because you have characters that are already established and you have to make them look recognizable in either your style or their original style. It's a good way to push yourself and learn while having a base to go off of and a box to expand on. That and you may find something that hasn't been done before. It's also fun to talk about it with other people in the fandom, make new pals, and just generally enjoy yourself.

Also, nature and animals. They're what I photograph the most. I've always loved animals and watching how they act and move. Being at college means really missing out on the pets part of life, and since I've moved out of my mothers' house, I can't get or afford to have pets. But I really miss being around animals.

Everything else like music, emotions, and such is really hard for me to illustrate, particularly on muro, but I like my job so I'll put an image about it here, because it's working around some of my favorite things. Or I was going to before muro decided to really act strange. I'll add it here when I get off work.

I can't pin point one specific source for inspiration, it mainly goes around things like music, nature, dreams, previous art styles, stories found in books, videogames, movies, even in history, culture and folk tales, and the feelings and lessons learnt in every one of these things mentioned.
Here's a little background info to what I drew. A woman with her eyes closed to point out to the dreamy aspect of my source of inspiration. The main color used in the picture is purple because it has been related to themes like magic and imagination. All the other colours found in her hair represent the different aspects one can dream about, all the feelings, all the different types of music, all the stories found in books, everything that in the end inspires me to draw.
I hope it didn't turn out too bad :B
Cheers!

To see something that we don't have in our world written or drawn as if we have it sitting next to us- that is inspirational to me.
Some things that exist bore me. Others fascinate my mind. But nothing stirs my creativity than something I can imagine being in our world even if it isn't. Whether it's writing- my art- or a rendering, aids to the imagination always inspire.

I get inspiration mostly from music. Other times inspiration comes randomly as an idea or thought. Things that inspire me are teachings and lessons, mostly moral, etc. I get inspiration from personal struggles and triumphs. Emotions and what I feel at the moment. Inspiration can come through other cultures, real or fantasy, nature, and animals.
I get inspiration from light, and colors. Light, meaning the sun shining through clouds and trees, etc. "Light can banish darkness."
I like to use colors to convey emotion.
I also like to use symbolism.
Eyes can be a window. So that's why the eyes are open.
Yeah. That's about it! :)

I get inspired randomly, at school, before sleep, or while walking outside. Also I get inspired by watching other artwork (mainly yours, sanguiGelidus or sakimichan) But my main inspirations are elements of nature and my favorite element is wind.. It's sound always made me calm and content.. When I was a little I promised myself that one day, when I'll be skillful enough, I'l paint God of the wind on canvas

What inspires you to draw... a tough question to ask, and also to answer sometimes.

My first and most important inspiration would be my feelings.
I am not able to "normally" share my feelings, also I cannot express real happiness or sadness or basically any feeling to a soul I have no real deep bonds with- and I don't even have found such a soul yet- still my need to share or simply feel my feelings is there and overwhelming sometimes.
This is the point where drawing kicks in- I can express my feelings with my pictures but without giving me away or leaving my inner self open vulnerable. It is my need to express myself that inspires me to draw.

The second inspiration is every little thing that makes me the least bit happy inside- be it the smell of earth and grass after rain, suns warming light on my skin, or the sensation of pure freedom when i go skydiving.
These little treasures are my muse, keep my mind healthy and push me to create something meaningful and strong, not for others tough, but for myself, as drawing is like skydiving--you are completely free of bonds and you feel like you just could fly away into never seen worlds free from humanities problems and troubles.

The third reason are other artists, I see pictures that make me happy, sad, even jealous at times - and I also have this wonderful pictures in my head, that want to break out, I want to produce meaningful and beautiful art like the artists I see around me - and I want to give tribute and be a part of this .

My feelings are like an island surrounded by a deep rough ocean.
My inspiration and drawing itself are like a beacon that sometimes would reveal some of the creatures, strongholds, wonders, cliffs and mountains that be on this island with its revealing light.
