The old one is not my favorite, but I still like it. Her new one looks more humanoid that the first one. I thing that's why I love it more than the first.
lol I guess the people who like the original all spoke up and the ones who liked the new version mostly just voted...haha cause the comments dont match the votes..
Anyways.
I really like when anatomy is correct, but thats just me. I can connect with a character and a piece more when anatomy is most accurate. I really go OH WOW.
It also shows (not just you, people in general) that people actually took the time to study regular canid skulls or faces and applied what they learned to there image. If anyone here knows what real canid anatomy looks like, then youll realize that the new myre is still accurate, but is also still slightly altered.
Anyhow, do what you feel is best for your character, despite all these comments stating the liking of the original.
The anatomy is great.. and she looks like you could do a lot with her facial expressions now.. But i really preferred your original view of her... it was unique and very easily recognizable.
I actually prefer the older face, more for the fact that it gives her a bit of a more unique skull structure, making her look less like your 'generic' fox and more like an original creation. To see the old fox, you would automatically think 'Oh, that's Myre' if you knew the character. To me, seeing the new one creates the thought that it's a nice picture, but generally just 'another fox'.
Who knows, though; that could easily just be the product of familiarity; we get used to the old face representing this character and so we oppose a change that makes it look less like the familiar. If YOU prefer the new Myre design and you like the way it looks, then certainly that should be the final decision.
However, I do think that the jawline in the new picture looks much more natural; the old Myre seems to have a more jutting, tiny jaw that just doesn't fit as well as 'realistic anatomy' as the new jaw seems to do. The forehead and smaller eyes on the old one, though, really give her some unique character, in my eyes.
hmmm. I don't know of this character much, and I like both of them, but I think I like the second one more. the first picture makes me think that she is sly, sneaky, etc, by the way the forehead is drawn, if that makes sense...lol
the second makes her look more 'celestial', proud, and makes me feel like she's an intelligent creature.

Of course, in these matters, it is preferable to advance.
